Murroe-Boher Historical Society will host a talk by Michael Hassett on Thursday, 12 January 2017, at the Muintir na Tíre Hall, Murroe, at 8.30 p.m. sharp. The talk is entitled “The Battle of Verdun and the Battle of the Somme, 1916.” Admission €5 to non-members, including refreshments. All welcome.

Boher Parish Social will take place on Saturday 21 January, in the Millennium Centre, Caherconlish.  This social promises to be a very enjoyable night with music by Johnny Skehan, dancing and an auction of timber and a variety of surprise items held during the night to help raise funds for the upkeep of our Community Centre.  Committee members will visit all houses in the Parish over the next week, selling tickets for the event.  Tickets cost €10 each.  Donations of Spot prizes will be gratefully received by Committee members.

 Boher Community Development Association 2017 Parish Calendar is on sale from all local businesses or any committee member. Cost €5.

Murroe Boher Community Games: Art, model making and handwriting competition will be held on Sunday the 15th of January at 5:30pm in the Muintir na Tire hall Murroe. Entry fee €3. Please bring along pencil and colours. We look forward to seeing you.

HOPE – Hi..my name is Anna Madigan and I would like to say a huge thank you to everybody who supported me during my recent fundraising campaigns for HOPE FOUNDATION. Murroe Twinning: The committee of Murroe-Boher Twinning Project would like to thank all who bought tickets for their Christmas Raffle. Boher’s Annual Walk and Fun Run on St. Stephen’s Day, in aid of Milford Hospice, will commence from Boher Community Centre at 1pm.

Community First Responder, Boher requires new volunteers to cover 24 hours a month. Those interested must be over 18 years and hold a clean driving licence. Training will take place in early 2017 to Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council. If you are interested, contact Ita Richardson, cfrboher@gmail.com CFR Boher are taking a stand at the Boher Christmas Market from 2-5pm. They will be giving information to the community and recruiting volunteers.

Murroe Boher Camogie: Well done to our minor camogie team who had a brilliant win over Croagh/Kilfinny/Adare last Saturday in the county final. This was a great win and a brilliant team performance. The girls showed their passion and skill as they were pushed closer than by any other team this year. Well done to all the girls and management. This was our last team in action this year so we would like to thank everyone who was involved in our club over the last year. We look forward to next year and building on this year’s progress.

Sliabh Feilim Singers annual Christmas Concert will be held in Abington Church, Murroe, Co Limerick at 5pm on 27th November, 2016.  The choir will be joined by special guests – traditional musicians, the Fitzgerald and Connolly families and singers Tara Campbell and Ellie Diggins.  This year, our concert is being held in aid of the work being done by Gina Heraty, a former student at the University of Limerick, who works with Special Needs children in Haiti.  Gina’s school has been badly damaged by the recent hurricane, so your support is greatly appreciated

Murroe Boher Camogie: Our minor team played the county final on Saturday against Croagh/Kilfinny/Adare. This team were our last team in competition. Result next week. Christmas Fair / Sale of Work: Bilboa National School will hold its annual Christmas Fair this Sunday 20th November at 2pm in the Community Centre, Cappamore. Our Christmas Fair has always proven to be a very enjoyable day out with a huge variety of competitions and entertainment to suit all ages. There is something for everyone: Wheel of Fortune, visit Santa in his grotto, coats & handbags stalls, bric-a-brac, cakes, toys, books, games, competitions, children’s entertainment, tea & cake and lots, lots more. Murroe Boher Bord na nog would like to congratulate our u13 Footballers on winning the County Final recently and also our Junior B Hurlers on a fantastic victory in the County Final last Sunday. 2 County championships in 1 week, a fabulous week for the Club. The Bord na nOg, would like to advise that our AGM is fixed for Monday 28th November in the Club Pavilion at 8.30PM. This year we are promoting the FAI draw which will give each participant 3 chances to win.
