Exam Mass will take place in Murroe Church on Friday next 18th May at 7.00pm. All exam students, families and friends are invited to this Mass. A book is available in Church Hall’s where you can write the name and address of a Student doing 2nd or 3rd level exams.

Sliabh Feilim Singers: To celebrate the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018, Europa Nostra and its President Maestro Plácido Domingo invited all citizens in Europe and beyond to contribute to the #Ode2Joy Challenge.  Sliabh Feilim singers will undertake this challenge during their annual summer concert which will be held in Abington Church, Murroe, at 8pm on Friday 18th May.  This year we especially welcome Mulcair Men’s shed choir who will entertain during the concert.  We hope you will join us on the night.  Admission €10 Proceeds to go to Friends of Abington

Murroe Boher Twinning will have their annual Bake Sale on the 20th May …. Baking can be purchased after first Mass at the GAA Club across from the Church. We will have some gluten free items. We are most grateful for your support.

June Bank Holiday Weekend: The Boher Community Development Association Charity Cycle in memory of Ciara McCarthy, has been rescheduled to Friday evening, 1st June at 7.15pm.  The 40km Cycle will commence from Boher Community Centre and there will be various short cut options.  Registration will commence at 6.15pm.  Refreshments will be served after the Cycle.  Entry by donation.  All proceeds to Cliona’s Foundation.

The Boher Family Fun Day will take place on Sunday 3rd June at 1.30pm at the GAA grounds, Boher.  Activities commence with the children’s Fancy Dress Competition, followed by races and novelty races for children and adults.  Back by popular demand this year, our Fittest Family challenge, where teams of 4 battle it out in a series of tasks to see who can complete the course in the best time!  Teams comprise of 2 adults and 2 children up to 15 years of age.  Also new this year, is our community picnic patch, so why not bring along a picnic and relax and enjoy events.  More details on Boher Community Facebook.

The Valley Golf Society outing to Dundrum Golf Club (kindly sponsered by Glenstal Abbey) was held on 05/05/18. Results as follows: 1st – Tom Ryan – 40 pts, 2nd – Paul Power – 36 pts, 3rd – PJ Joyce – 34 pts. Our next outing will be in Ballyneety Golf Club on 19/05/18 at 12 mid-day

Murroe/Boher Camogie Club Best of luck to our intermediate team who take on Na Piarsaigh in the league county final on Sunday (13th) at 2.30pm in Monaleen, Peafield Pitch – on the road between Morrisson’s Pub and Monaleen Stores. Please come out and support our girls as they look to bring home some silverware! Hard luck to our U16 team who lost their league plate final against Blackrock/Effin on Thursday evening, the girls will now be looking towards championship which starts in August. Well done to Ciara Oliver, Orlaith Hickey, Sarah Jane Flynn and Sophie Quaid who are part of the Ahane-Murroe/Boher team who are into a league semi-final, after winning all their group games, on Tuesday (15th) in Ahane at 7pm against Newcastle West. Best of luck to all our girls and please come out and show your support.
