Diocesan and Parish Listening Process: On Monday 9th September a very successful meeting took place in Muntir na Tíre Hall Murroe to discuss the results of the recent research project in our parish. It was a revelation to discover that a great need was expressed by those in attendance to meet and talk about matters that are dear to the hearts and thinking of many in our parish community, for example, matters of Faith, Family, Youth and Community among others. A follow-up meeting is planned for Monday 23rd September at 7.30 p.m. at the same venue. Your parish needs your participation. Please come along and bring a friend.

Legion of Mary will travel to Knock Shrine on Sunday 29th September. Bus from Boher village at 8:15am approx. Further details from Mrs Moloney 061 380632.

Parish Choirs: Both Parish Choirs have resumed practice on Thursday evenings – Junior Choir 5.00pm to 6.00pm – Senior Choir 8.00pm to 9.30pm. New members are always welcome. Just drop along to the relevant practice.

Abington Church Harvest Festival takes place this Sunday 15th September at 3pm. All are welcome to this traditional event. A Collection for overseas aid will be taken up on the day.

Milford Hospice Coffee Morning: Denis Holmes will hold a Coffee Morning in aid of Milford Hospice in their showrooms on Thursday 19th September 10am – 2pm. Everyone Welcome to this very worthy fundraiser.

The Irish Red Cross, East Branch will hold a Church Gate Collection in Murroe and Boher next weekend the 21st/22nd September.

Set dancing, ceili, waltz, jive, line dancing, Sean nós etc, for children will resume in Muintir na tire hall Murroe Tuesday 17th September at 4:45pm. Enq Pauline 085 7417609.

Kate Madigan from Abington is a Transition Year student in Castletroy College. Kate is fundraising and raising awareness of the great work that the Hope Foundation is doing for children of Calcutta. She will travel and work with the Hope Foundation in Calcutta during Easter next year. Kate will speak about Hope at the weekend masses in Murroe and Boher on the weekend of September 28th and 29th. Kate would really appreciate your time to listen to her message and give your support.

CPR: Would you know what to do if someone had a heart attack?  Now is your chance to find out! In collaboration with Boher Community First Responder, Irish Water Safety will hold 2 Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) CPR courses in Boher Community Centre on 21st September, 9am-1pm and 1pm-5pm.  These courses are free to members of the community, with the option to register with PHECC (at a cost of €25). Boher Community Association: Boher Parish Calendar 2020 Boher Parish Calendar project team will be producing a parish calendar again for 2020. All members of the community are invited to submit photos for consideration. Old or modern photos will be accepted and can be related to a number of topics: historical interest, landscape, parish events, etc. Photos can be given to any of the Community Development Association members.  Photos will be scanned/copied and originals will be returned within 5 days. ANNUAL TABLE QUIZ Boher Community Development Association will hold its annual Table Quiz on Friday, 20 September at 8.30 pm in Pa McGrath’s, Boher. All donations will be presented to the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust (KBRT), in memory of Rory Tynan. We hope as many as possible will support this event. Lots of spot prizes to be won on the night!

Adult Painting Classes resuming in Murroe hall on Thursday the 3rd of October from 7-9pm.  No experience is needed. beginners are very welcome. 8 weeks. €15 Euro pay as you go weekly.  Some materials and refreshments supplied, just please bring your own acrylic paints and brushes. Craobh Pheig Uí Riain will host music singing and Irish classes again for the coming year. Regular classes will then commence on Monday 16th September at 6.20 pm to 8.50 pm.at Scoil Chaitríona Main St. Cappamore. All traditional instruments are taught including Tin Whistle, Flute, Fiddle, Concertina, Button Accordion, Banjo, Bodhrán. Classes are suitable for beginners, improvers and advanced levels. Murroe Boher Bord na nOg would like to congratulate on u10 hurlers on winning the John Joe Nevin, tournament in Ballina last Sunday morning. The team was captained by Cillian Holmes, and the player of the tournament was Liam Brouder. Congratulations to all concerned. Our u9’s won the B final on the same day.  Our u13’s beat Na Piarsaigh and Bruff this week, and face Garryspillane on Monday evening at 18.45pm in Harty Park, for a place in the county premier final. Our u11’s are travelling to UCD, on Sunday morning to face Kilmacud Crokes in a festival of hurling. Best wishes, also to our u16 hurlers, who are playing with Ahane this year, in the county Semi-final on Sunday morning in Rathkeale.

Murroe Boher Camogie: Hard luck to Sinead McElligott and Katie Heelan who were part of the Limerick junior team who lost out to a strong Kerry side in the All-Ireland final last weekend. Well done to Sophie Quaid and the Cappamore U14 team who won the Cup Final during the week. Hard luck to our U16 team, who are joined with Cappamore who lost their third-round game. They will play a plate semi-final against Galbally next Thursday in Galbally at 6.15. Next Saturday (21st) our U10s will travel to Kileedy for their County Blitz which is always a great day out. Next Sunday (22nd) our juniors will play Monaleen in their third round in Monaleen

Murroe AFC Notes: Team news: The Youth team had a big 8-4 win over Mungret Regional last Saturday evening, while the C team lost out 3-0 to Athlunkard Villa the same day. On Sunday last then the A team had a fine 1-0 win over Corbally Utd, while the B team lost out 4-1 against Kilmallock.
