Pro-Life: A Talk on Pro-Life will be given at all Masses in Murroe/Boher next weekend 28/29 April.

Church Windows Fundraising: Jimmy Buckley concert takes place next Sunday April 29th. Work totalling over 25,000 has been completed so far this year. We recently had to replace the Electronic Bell, which was installed in 1999. This cost over 4,000. The Railing outside the Church needs repair and painting this year. This has been an expensive year for repairs, all of which are necessary for the upkeep of our Church. There are still a number of tickets available and we would urge people to purchase one if you have not already done so. Tickets are available in the Sacristy, Murroe.

A reunion (for anyone who attended the Convent Secondary School, Doon up until 1965) will be held on Tuesday, July 10th 2018 in Ballykisteen Golf Hotel, Co Tipperary (starting about mid-day). Further information is available from our web site: www.doonconventreunion.com. Spread the word, please.

June Bank Holiday Weekend: The Boher Community Development Association Charity Cycle in aid of Cliona’s Foundation in memory of Ciara McCarthy, has been rescheduled to Friday evening, 1st June and the Boher Family Fun Day will take place on Sunday 3rd June. More details on these events later.

Murroe-Boher Historical Society will hold its last talk of this season at the Muintir na Tíre Hall, Murroe, on Thursday, April 26, at 8.30 pm sharp. David McBurnie will speak about Gerald Griffin and the beginning of the “Irish Tale.” Admission €5 to non-members (includes refreshments). All welcome.

Move for Life: Could you benefit from being a little more physically active? Interested in meeting new people? Then come join us!  Move for Life is a research study being run by the University of Limerick in association with Limerick and Clare Sports Partnerships. We need 600 people from Limerick and Clare who are aged 50+ and would like to become more active.  We will provide each area with four fun physical activity programmes that include: Women on Wheels, Get Ireland Walking, Men on the Move and Go for Life Games. All programmes will run for 8-12 weeks. It is a great opportunity to meet others and to help you live a more active and healthy lifestyle. Murroe AFC Notes: Tickets are selling rapidly for out 50th anniversary dinner dance and are still available from any committee member. The clubs 50th Anniversary Dinner Dance takes place in the Castletroy Park Hotel on Friday May 4th at 7-30pm. A great night celebrating the clubs 1st 50 years with music by local band TRAFFIC and DJ till late. Murroe Boher GAA Club are running a Golf Classic on the 10th/11th May in Ballykisteen Golf Club. If anyone is interested in playing or putting in a team, they can contact Rory on 086 31768224, or any member of the committee. A team of 3 players cost €120 or you can sponsor a Tee box for €50. This fundraiser is to complete our Ball Wall facility, due to be complete by June 01st.

Murroe-Boher Community Games: Well done to all those who ran at the County Community Games Cross-Country in Shanagolden on Sunday 15th April. Harry Condon 3rd Place U14 800m, Peter Ashe 2nd Place U11 600m, Cillian Holmes 3rd Place U9 300m. The U11 team of Peter Ashe, Rian Horgan, Joseph O’Brien, Reuben Crowe & Killian O’Neill won GOLD. The U9 team of Cillian Holmes, George Crowe, Oran O’Neill & Donagh Horgan won BRONZE.  Best wishes to Harry, Peter and the U11 team who will go on to represent Limerick at the National Finals.

Murroe Boher GAA: Senior County Championship: Our first match back in Senior Championship takes places this Sunday the 22nd at 6pm in Cappamore v South Liberties, we would hope for a big following like we had last year to keep the positive momentum going. We have a talented bunch of players who deserve great support so hope to see you all in Cappamore.

Murroe/Boher Camogie Club Well done to our intermediate team who topped their group to make a league semi-final against Croagh/Kilfinny next Sunday (April 29th) at 2.30pm at home. Hard luck to our U16 team hwo lost out to Crecora in their second group game. The girls played Blackrock/Effin in their final group game on Friday. Our thanks to everyone who came out to support our Blind Date fundraiser which was held last weekend in Crokers Bar. Thanks to all our contestants who made the night possible. Thanks to Paul Coffey who acted as MC and everyone who sponsored raffle prizes on the night. A great night was had by all!
