Feast of the Immaculate Conception: As the 8th of December this year falls on Sunday, the Holy day has been moved to Monday 9th. Vigil Mass in Murroe at 7pm on Sunday evening. Masses on Monday, Murroe 9am and 11.30am. Boher 10am.

Murroe-Boher Senior Citizens Party will take place on Sunday 12th January in Millennium Centre Caherconlish. Mass at 1.00 followed by Lunch at 2.00. Music by Sean, Paddy and Karen. Tickets €15 available from Kathleen 087 2387686 or Carmel 087 6107132, also available in Sacristy of both Church’s.

Confessions will be held after all Masses next weekend 14/15 December. Visiting Priests will attend.

Murroe Post Office: The Post office will be open for normal business on Saturday 14th and Saturday 21st December, including full postal deliveries and collections.

Christmas Book: The latest edition of Murroe-Boher annual newsletter will be available locally from this coming weekend. The committee wish to thank all contributors to the magazine for their efforts and to wish support for all the businesses who advertised with the book. Without their generosity, it would not be possible to publish

Murroe-Boher Historical Society – Our December talk will be held on Thursday, December 12 at 8.30 p.m. sharp at the Muintir na Tire Hall, Murroe with Noreen Higgins, who will speak to us on “Ireland in 1919-1920: The Beginning of a New State.” Admission €5 to non-members. All welcome.

Boher Community Development Association: Boher Christmas Market will take place this Sunday 8th December. Savour the atmosphere and buy beautiful Christmas gifts from a wide selection of arts, crafts, baking, needlecraft, woodwork etc. Santa and Mrs Claus will arrive at 1pm where you can join them in their new spectacular grotto. Don’t miss this event!

Boher Community Development Association will launch its 2020 Parish Calendar at O’Neill’s Bar this Sunday 8th December at 9pm. The calendar includes a delightful selection of old and recent photographs reflecting the lives and achievements of the people of Boher and places of interest. The back of the calendar features some Boher-related snippets from old newspapers and journals. All welcome!

Murroe Boher GAA Club would like you to save the date, Friday 20th December and Saturday 21st December, we are holding our Annual bag pack, in Dunnes Stores on Childers road. We are looking for volunteers to help us with these badly needed funds. Please contact any member of the club for more information.

Murroe AFC Notes: Team news: The A team got back to winning ways in the league last Sunday with a good 3-1 win away to neighbours Cappamore Celtic. The C team battled gamely but eventually lost out in a tight match on a 3-2 scoreline against Kilmallock, while the Youth Team went down 4-2 in the FAI Youth Cup against Aisling Annacotty. This coming weekend the B Team are away to Coonagh Utd in the Open Cup, while the A’s C’s and Youths have no fixtures. Keep an eye on the club Facebook page and Twitter feeds for up to the minute fixtures and results!

Christmas Draw this Sunday night 8th December: Murroe AFC are running our own Christmas Draw this year, with lots of fabulous prizes! All our club members now have tickets. We hope you can support the club’s efforts as always. Draw takes place on Sunday 8th December in the Valley Inn, Murroe. Tickets €5 each or a book of 6 for €25.
