Bus for Papal Mass: It is hoped to run a Bus for the upcoming Papal Mass in Phoenix Park Dublin on Sunday 26th August. If you are interested in travelling on the Bus, please give your name to Breda Byrnes on 061 621000 weekdays. There will be a fee for the Bus which will be determined later.

Hearing Aid: If you are a user of a Hearing Aid, you may be interested to know that a Loop System has been installed in Boher Church. Please ensure your hearing aid is at the correct setting.

The Irish Blood Transfusion Service will be holding a blood donor clinic in the Community Centre, Newport, on Thursday 12th July. Time: 5pm – 8pm.

Murroe Boher Bord na nOg would like to congratulate all those who attended our Cul Camp this week. We had over 100 boys and girls taking part, which made it our biggest Cul Camp to date. We would like to thank Brian, Stephen and Emmet, who volunteered their time to help out at the camp, also thank the parents who supervised during the lunch breaks.

Murroe-Boher Community Games: An enjoyable day was had by all at the Mungret sports and some results to share.  In the team events U12 Boys Relay 100m 4th place, team of Cathal Foley, Callum Condon, Tadhg McElligot, Mark Lonergan; U15 Mixed Relay 3rd place, team of Eibhlin Stockhil, SarahJane Flynn, Harry Condon, Emmet Crowe; U9 Multi-Event Boys 1st place Cillian Holmes, George Crowe, Donagh Horgan, Patrick Lonergan, Rory O’ Connor. In the individual events U8 Boys 80m 3rd place Donagh Horgan; U10 Boys 100m 1st place Alex Woodland; U10 Girls 200m B 1st place Ruth Lonergan; U12 Boys 100m 4th place Cathal Foley; U14 Boys 100m 3rd place Harry Condon; U14 Boys 200m B 1st place Harry Condon; 2nd place Mike Carmody; U14 Girls 200m B 1st place Siobhan Cooke and in the Ball Throw Boys U12 3rd place for Freddie French.

Murroe/Boher Camogie Club: Camogie action has returned and last Wednesday saw 5 of our club girls pull on the green jersey. Karen Cunningham, Katie Heelan, Sinead McElligott, Edel Cunningham and Megan Kiely were all part of the minor team who defeated Clare to make a Munster semi-final in 2 weeks. Next Saturday (July 14th) sees the same 5 girls play for the Limerick junior team against Offaly in the first round. Murroe AFC Notes: Management Position: The committee are seeking applications from anyone interested in the management position for the Men’s A team for the coming season, (LDL Div 1A). Anyone interested contact murroeafc@gmail.com or any committee member.

Murroe AFC will be hosting their Annual FAI Summer Soccer School this July 16th to 20th, from 10:30am to 3pm each day. The camp is open to all boys and girls of all abilities between the ages of 6-14 years. The cost of the camp is €65 and each child will receive an exclusive kit, (jersey, shorts, socks), a backpack, football, certificate, and 5 days of top quality coaching. Book Launch: Murroe AFC will be launching their new book “Murroe AFC The First 50 Years 1968-2018” on Saturday 21st July at 7pm in the Valley Inn, Murroe. Special guest at the launch will be Mr John Delaney, FAI Chief Executive. We’re hoping that all our friends and supporters, past players, and members will be able to attend on the night. The book is a fabulous record of the story of the first 50 years of soccer in Murroe and will be available at a price of €15.
