Thank you to all those who gave so generously to the Church Gate collection in aid of Killinure National School Parents Association at the June Bank Holiday weekend Masses. The total raised was €559.72. This money will go a long way towards helping fund things such as the Book Rental scheme, help subsidise costly bus fees and other such endeavours to directly benefit the children and parents of Killinure National School. On their behalf, we thank you!

Boher Community Development Association: On Saturday evening last, a very large number of cyclists, congregated at Boher Community Centre to participate in our Annual Charity Cycle.  Over 140 cyclists left the community centre on a 40k cycle.  €3k was raised during the event.  This exceeded all expectations.  Boher Community Development Association will make a presentation next month to The Jack & Gill Children’s Foundation, in memory of Rhona Kett Sheridan and Cliona’s Foundation, in memory of Ciara McCarthy.  Sincere thank you to all who participated in the cycle, the Marshals, Stewards, John Kennedy, Dunnes Stores, PJ Fitzgibbon for providing car parking facilities and the ladies committee for providing refreshments after the event.

Boher Community Development Association will hold its Annual Parish Fun Day this Sunday 11th June from 1.30pm at the GAA pitch, Boher. Activities will kick off with the children’s fancy dress competition followed by children’s races and novelty races for children and adults. There will also be a number of sideshows. This year we are introducing a “Fittest Family Challenge”! Teams of 4 can enter for the event comprising 2 adults – one male and one female – and two children under 15 years of age. All those who participated in the various events last year thoroughly enjoyed themselves and hopefully even more people will join in the fun this year. All members of our community are most welcome.

Murroe Ladies Gaelic Football: We wish Kate Madigan and her Limerick u14 Gaelic football team the very best of luck on Sunday as they take on Armagh in the All Ireland B semifinal. The team with Club coaches Ken Beirne and Marie O’Flynn as part of the management team recently made history by claiming the B Munster title against Waterford. G4M continues with a match v St Pats planned for Tuesday, new players welcome, details on club facebook page.

Murroe Boher Camogie Club: Over the past week we have hosted a very successful Hurl Smart Week. For 5 days, we saw varying age groups of girls come to Murroe GAA Pitch for loads of fun and challenging camogie sessions. A fundamental skills session, introductory coaching and drills session, a ball wall session and an introduction to camogie for 4-7 year olds were among the activities of the week. The highlights of the week were the zorbing and the nutrition and mindfulness talk which both proved to be great successes. Our special thanks to Anne O’Connor for presenting the talk and also to all our coaches, parents and volunteers who trained sessions, helped organise drills and even took part. The week was a great success. Next weekend sees our U8s host a blitz at 11am in Murroe on Saturday while our U10s travel to Ballyagran to take part in their blitz. Both teams will play 3 matches on the day. Best of luck to all our girls!
