Murroe Boher Parish Book 2016: The 2016 edition of the Parish Newsletter is on sale in the three shops in the village and the two Boher pubs. Price €10

Remembrance Tree: The East Limerick Branch of the Irish Red Cross have placed a remembrance tree in local Churches including Murroe and Boher. On this tree, you can place a remember me ribbon for loved ones that have passed away, the sick and those living abroad this Christmas. Ribbons cost €2 each and can be purchased at local shops and businesses or from members of the local Irish Red Cross. The Ribbons are also available in Boher Sacristy.

HOPE – Hi..my name is Anna Madigan and I would like to say a huge thank you to everybody who supported me during my recent fundraising campaigns for HOPE FOUNDATION. The response from everybody that supported me in the community and beyond (especially at my Table Quiz, my sales of Butler’s Chocolate bars, my Second-Hand Clothes Collections and in any other way), has been overwhelming and very encouraging.   From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you so much for your kindness and generosity. I wish you all a very Happy and Peaceful Christmas. Go raibh míle maith agat. Anna!

Murroe Twinning: The committee of Murroe-Boher Twinning Project would like to thank all who bought tickets for their Christmas Raffle. The Monster Hamper was won by Sarah Keyes of Meentulla; the Christmas cake by Susanne Timmons of Garranbawn; the bottle of whiskey by Evan Kelly of Garranbawn; the box of chocolates by Bridie Harvey of Gilmartin Park. They would also like to thank the proprietors of The Valley Inn, Reale`s Butchers, Gala Superstore, and Crokers for their valuable help and co-operation over the past several weeks.

Boher’s Annual Walk and Fun Run on St. Stephen’s Day, in aid of Milford Hospice, will commence from Boher Community Centre at 1pm.

Boher Community Development Association: Boher 2017 Parish Calendar on sale.  It includes a delightful selection of old and recent photographs reflecting the lives and achievements of the people of Boher and places of interest.  The back of the calendar features some Boher-related snippets from old newspapers and journals.  It is available from the Bars in Boher and the shops and PO in Murroe.  Cost €5.

Community First Responder, Boher requires new volunteers to cover 24 hours a month. Those interested must be over 18 years and hold a clean driving licence. Training will take place in early 2017 to Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council. If you are interested, contact Ita Richardson, cfrboher@gmail.com CFR Boher are taking a stand at the Boher Christmas Market from 2-5pm. They will be giving information to the community and recruiting volunteers.

Boher Parish Social will take place on 21 January 2017 at the Millennium Centre, Caherconlish.
