Boher Community Development Association: Boher Community Development Association will launch its 2017 Parish Calendar on Sunday night, 20 November, at O’Neill’s Bar.  The calendar includes a delightful selection of old and recent photographs reflecting the lives and achievements of the people of Boher and places of interest.  The back of the calendar features some Boher-related snippets from old newspapers and journals.   Cost €5.  All welcome to attend. Progressive 45 every Friday night at Boher Community Centre, at 8pm.  All welcome to attend. Community First Responder, Boher requires new volunteers to cover 24 hours a month.  Those interested must be over 18 years and hold a clean driving licence.  Training will take place in early 2017 to Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council.  If you are interested, contact Ita Richardson, cfrboher@gmail.com. Murroe Boher Bord na nog would like to congratulate our u13 Footballers on winning the County Final recently and also our Junior B Hurlers on a fantastic victory in the County Final last Sunday. 2 County championships in 1 week, a fabulous week for the Club. GLENSTAL WALKERS: Now that the darkest time of the year is upon us, it is essential that all walkers entering the grounds of Glenstal Abbey should wear High Visibility Vests from now on. Without a vest, you cannot be seen and drivers should not be put in the position of endangering lives due to the carelessness of walkers.

Murroe Boher Camogie: Hard luck to our u13 team who lost narrowly to Croagh/Kilfinny in the county semi-final last Sunday. This marks the end of the season for our u13s, our thanks to all the girls who trained hard over the past year and also to Colin and Deirdre who put in huge effort with the girls, we look forward to seeing the girls progressing up through the age groups in the coming years. MURROE-BOHER ANNUAL: The deadline this year for the items for the 2016 Parish Annual is Friday, November 11 and all articles, organisation reports, photographs and advertising must be in by this date to facilitate printing in time for the holiday season. It would be preferable if all items were in to murroebook@gmail.com or John Egan, Fr Tom Ryan, Mary Finucane, Grainne Keayes, Dan Dinneen or Sean Hogg by the beginning of November, with the email address the preferable option. Any organisation that has not been already contacted by the committee and would wish to contribute is most welcome to do so, preferably as soon as possible. Also, as it is impossible for the advertising committee to call to all businesses in the area, please feel free to contact the committee by email should you wish to advertise and support the annual.

Boher Community Development Association: Boher Community Alert are holding a Coffee Morning to raise funds for Community Alert projects, on Sunday 23 October at 10.30am.  Your support for this great initiative would be most welcome. Progressive 45 every Friday night at Boher Community Centre, at 8pm.  All welcome to attend. Charity table quiz will be held on Friday, 21 October in Pa McGrath’s, Boher at 8pm in aid of the Special Olympics World Winter Games. Murroe Boher Camogie: Camogie double header!! Our U13 and minor teams both take to Boher pitch on Sunday morning at 11am & 12 noon. The U13 team play Croagh/Kilfinny at 11am in the county semi-final while our minor follow them at 12 noon in the second round of the championship against Patrickswell. It would be great to see lots of home support for both our teams. Best of luck girls.

Murroe AFC Notes. New Club Draw. The club has decided to completely revamp our annual draw which usually takes place at Christmas. This year we are promoting the FAI draw which will give each participant 3 chances to win. There will be a National Draw, a Munster draw and all tickets sold locally by Murroe AFC will be entered into a local draw also (similar to the Christmas draw) There is an incredible prize fund including 4 ford fiesta cars 1 for each province, holidays, trips to soccer games, X-Boxes, mobile phones, vouchers, match tickets and many more. In addition to this the club will run a local draw also where all tickets bought for the National/Regional draw will be entered again for a super prize fund. The National draw takes place on November 23^rd at the Aviva Stadium and our local draw will be prior to this. Tickets cost €10 each and are available from players and committee members.
