The Lisnagry Association wish to thank all who contributed to the recent Church gate Collection in Boher and Murroe. A total of €901 was collected.

The Irish Blood Transfusion Service will be holding a Blood Donor Clinic in the Community Centre, Caherconlish, on Monday 25th February. Time: 5pm – 8pm.

Maranatha Prayer Ministry Healing Retreat this Sunday 17th February 2019 at 2.30pm at St. Paul’s Church, Dooradoyle, Limerick through the Ministry of Rev. Fr. Robbie Coffey, Limerick and Sr. Mary Bridget, Charismatic Renewal, Limerick.  All welcome. Tea after.

Boher Community Development Association thanks everybody who was involved with the Official Opening of our upgraded Community Centre last Saturday night. Over 100 people attended the event and mixed and mingled at leisure in the additional space. It was a wonderful occasion and a great success. Thanks to Aidan Gleeson and Clare Jordan of Ballyhoura who addressed the Community on the great work that has been completed in Boher. The Liam McCarthy Cup was a big attraction to everybody, young and not so young.  Special word of thanks to the Ladies Committee who excelled again in providing food for our guests. Word is spreading about our great facility and bookings are brisk.

Boher Community Development Association AGM took place recently. The following were re-elected to officer positions: President: Canon Tom Ryan; Chairman: Pat O’Connell; Secretary: Sarah Fitzgerald; Treasurer:  Helena Hickey; PRO:  Mary Finucane.

Milford Care Centre: Bereavement Support Information Evening Tuesday 26th February 2019 @ 7 to 8.30 pm. This is one of the quarterly information evenings that are held throughout the year to provide information on normal grief and the support services offered by Milford Care Centre.

Anam Cara  & Milford Care Centre Bereavement Information Evening Thursday 28th February 2019 @ 7 to 9.00pm. Milford Care Centre and Anam Cara, the national organisation that provides support services to bereaved parents and families, are hosting a Bereavement Information Evening in Limerick. This event gives parents an opportunity to hear an experienced bereavement professional talk about the many challenges their family may face after the death of a son or daughter. Please note this event is open to all bereaved parents, regardless of the age of their child or the circumstances of their death. If you have attended a previous Bereavement Information Evening, we would encourage you to come again because each time you will hear something that will help you along the difficult and challenging journey of grief. There will also be time after the talk to interact with other bereaved parents. 

Rearcross Community Council will hold a Progressive 45 Drive in the Community Centre Rearcross on Friday 8th March 2019 @ 8.30pm – €500.00 in Prizes – Tickets €5 -Tea Served. Tickets available from all Community Council Members and at Rody Kennedy’s Shop in the Village.

Murroe AFC Notes: Team News: The B team and C team had their fixtures called off last weekend due to the weather. The A team’s match went ahead though on the all-weather pitch in UL against Coonagh Utd, and Murroe came away with a hard fought 1-0 win.  The A team or B team have no fixtures this coming weekend. The C team are at home to Fairview Rangers on Sunday at 11am in Tubber. Keep an eye on the Facebook page for fixtures and results.

Underage Coach needed: The U-8 boys team, (boys born in 2011), are looking for a coach currently. If you’re a former player, or a parent, or just want to help out, get in touch on murroeafc@gmail.com The season starts on 23rd February so there’s only a few weeks to get organised. The club will provide all necessary training and assistance.

Murroe AFC’s book “Murroe AFC The First 50 Years 1968-2018” is still available to purchase at Spar, and English’s. The book is a fabulous record of the story of the first 50 years of soccer in Murroe, and is available at a price of €15.
