Darkness into Light 2018 in aid of Pieta House will be held 4am Saturday 12th May. Following the success of last year’s walk, the event will be held in Murroe again this year. Registration will open in early February.
Boher Parish Social will take place on Saturday 17 February, in the Millennium Centre, Caherconlish. This social promises to be a very enjoyable night with music by Johnny Skehan, dancing and an auction of timber and a variety of surprise items held during the night to help raise funds for the upkeep of our Community Centre. Tickets cost €10. Donations of Spot prizes will be gratefully received by Committee members.

Murroe Boher Bord na nOg are hosting a Foundation Coaching Course next Friday 2nd February from 19.00 -22.00 and on Saturday Morning 3rd February from 09.30 – 13.00. This is for anyone interested in getting involved with underage coaching. Murroe Boher Camogie Club: Murroe/Boher Camogie Club registration for 2018 is now due. We will be in the GAA clubhouse in Murroe from 7.30pm – 9pm on the 9th February. Membership for the year is €40 for u8 to u18, €50 for students and €60 for adults.

Would you like to confidently navigate your way around your device? Learn how to search various websites, send and receive emails, download and use various apps e.g. Whatsapp, Viber, RTE Player. How to use social media, upload/download and send photos, as well as learning about online safety and security, all on your device. ‘Bring your own Device’ classes starting in East Limerick Campus, Cappamore on Tuesday 6th Feb. Morning class starts at 10am and evening class starts at 6pm. Classes are small, are free and run for 2 hours over 5 weeks. St Mary’s Secondary School, Newport: Congratulations to our girls “Minor” soccer team who beat Colȃiste Mhuire Askeaton in the Munster Semi Final in blustery conditions. The final result was 2-1 with both of our goals coming from Abbey Lenihan. They will now play Colȃiste Fionnchua Mitchelstown in the Munster Final. North Munster’s Cross Country. Our team of athletes competed in horrific conditions, Amy Hayde came first in the girls 2000M, qualifying for the Munster’s on 23rd of Feb. This is the first of their events for 2018. TY Mini Companies. Are in full flight with ventures including, Filtered Water Bottles, personalised Gear bags and Training kits for sale in the school. Camogie. Currently Junior match is on Monday next vs Castletroy in the 1st round of the league. Senior Camogie are through to the Munster semi-final and will play a team from Waterford. Training continues in the school Gym after school. Pope John Paul II awards Over 20 students are entering the programme, volunteering in the local community. Breakfast Club Continues. The breakfast club is growing from strength to strength with an increasing number of students availing of the service. BT Young Scientist Award Winners and fellow TY students held one of our first primary schools Science demo’s for Newport Convent primary school on Thursday last, it is part of an initiative to promote STEM subjects and promote leadership skills and confidence in our students. Hurlers. Under 15’s are playing on Tuesday 30th Jan against Nenagh St Marys. In the Munster schools. The boys are training hard and hopeful of a positive result. They are also due to play Castletroy College in the Limerick colleges competition. First year hurlers are making great strides with a number playing on the under 15 team. Our incoming first years for 2018 are looking very strong and will certainly add to our strength. First years will also be competing in the Limerick colleges Blitz.
